Want to view the mobile version of your WordPress site? Mobile view will help you see how your site looks on mobile devices.
You can view your site in real-time on your phone, but that won’t help much during the development phase. It’s easier to view it on a regular computer, though, as you can quickly make changes and see the effect.
Let’s take a look at 2 simple ways to easily view a mobile version of a WordPress site on a computer without using separate mobile devices.
Method 1. WordPress Theme Customizer
You can view the mobile version of the resource in the Active Theme Customizer. For this
Open Appearance -> Customize .
This will open the Theme Customizer. The number of options and settings depends on the theme.
At the bottom of the screen, click on the mobile phone icon. After that, you will see a preview of how your site looks on mobile devices.
This mobile preview method is especially useful when you haven’t finished customizing your look of yours, or when it’s in maintenance mode.
You can make changes and check how they look before visitors see them.
Method 2: Google Chrome built-in tools
The Google Chrome browser has a set of developer tools. They allow you to perform various checks on any site, including viewing how the site looks on mobile devices.
To do this, in Chrome, go to the site and right-click anywhere on the page and select View code.
In the new panel, find and click the Toggle device toolbar button.
As a result, the preview of your web resource will be reduced to the size of a mobile phone screen.
The top panel of buttons will allow you to simulate the screen of a mobile device: zoom in, size the screen, simulate the performance of the site on fast or slow 3G connections, rotate the screen of a mobile phone.
